Fashion raptors? Convergent evolution? Why not? OK, I know this is not THE most probable situation, but it still could be in some cases.
After all, Sinosauropteryx is quite similar to a Red Panda... so why not to use modern birds color schemes for members of maniraptora? Even when their lifestyles are not the same than the birds I used as inspiration, I think it is an interesting work.

Each dinosaur was "dressed up" with an actual bird feather-scheme. The big name is for the dinosaur, the small name below is for the bird.

Was Unenlagia that large?

Yes it was, but maybe I made it confuse: for Unenlagia the ground starts in the blue line.

Wow those some sexy raptors! Austroraptor needs a bit bigger and deeper skull based on the photos I've seen.... nice idea with the Quetzal plumage, but I wonder if anything THAT big would have needed so much plumage. Same goes for Utahraptor and the "harpy eagle" look. I'd say the Deinonychus is the best-looking of this bunch. Light, smooth feathering, that I'd expect to be even lighter on things like Austroraptor and Utahraptor.

About the plumage, this is like the fashion week: you don't see people in the street using those strange dresses, but it is because designers wants to exagerate concepts for the runway. The same here, I know that is not very realistic, but I exagerated the plumage to erase (in common people's minds) that image of big-bold-scaly-lizards that still appears in books. ;)
