Actually, I have a better name for it, Montananykus horneri "Horner's Montana claw" I know your wondering why I changed it? Well I wasn't satisfied with the original name and I wanted to change it to something that sounded much better. Not to mention that Jack Horner had a hand in helping describing it in a scientific paper.

I am sooo excited to see this, I love these little stabbyhanded dinosaurs and I rarely see them get much attention, so hearing they're gonna be in Saurian has me bouncing in my chair! I really like the draped feathers on the tail and the delicate little snout.

Was this species of Alverezsaurid described yet? Don't remember seeing it mentioned before actually.

Nope, there's no name for this one yet. However, we know remains of formerly named Ornithomimus minutus belonged to an Alvarezsaur.

Do we know if minutus is part of the undescribed alvarezsaur or is it too soon to know? Really cool how Hell Creek seems to have so much more than the usual big ones people typically talk about.

If i understand correctly O. minutus IS the undescribed Alvarezsaur.

We do have identifiable alvarezsaur remains from Hell creek, they're usually referred to "Ornithomimus" minutus.

JonaGold2000 Featured By Owner May 14, 2015  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
Why would the be reffered to Ornithomimus if they are identifiably Alverezsaurs
Reply
:iconchrismasna:
ChrisMasna Featured By Owner May 18, 2015
Because at the moment of the discovery Alvarezsaurs were not known.

probably because they haven't properly identified them and they're being placed under a wastebasket taxon for the time being.

Gracias! Albertonykus vivió unos 5 millones de años antes que la época en la que situamos el juego, pero este animal hipotético ocupa el mismo nicho.
