Description
I made the model in Blender, then added skin details in Sculptris and ZBrush, then the rigging and painting in ZBrush, and finally the fire in Blender again.
Big enough to use as wallpaper, or to buy as print (either here or in my redbubble store)

Overall Vision
Originality Technique ImpactAs far as realistic Pokemon go, this is by far one of the best I have seen.
My favorite part is the flame on the tail, the way it trails off into the distance and how the flames almost seem as if they are engulfing Charizard`s tail. The texture of the skin is brilliant and the amount of detail is outstanding.
Although, in saying this, there are a few things I have noticed.
The one that annoys me the most is his back right foot (his left) seems to be missing a toe. In looking at how the other foot is drawn and the length of the toes, surely we would be able to see even a little part of it? Ok, so it could be behind the other toes on the far right side but I think we would be able to see a small bit.
I like the detail in his eyes and how the almost glow.
I feel the background fits in with the image, making the audience focus on Charizard yet at the same time if we look directly at it, it is calming- A direct conflict with the giant dragon. The blurred quality of the background I find personally makes sense, trying to focus on the background and charizard would be impossible and for us to believe he is actually flying the background would need to be out of focus.
